Back on the range for the first time this year. Hitting my new M2. Plane appears to be good and maybe a little bit of a shorter swing but it felt very controlled. I also was testing out standing a little bit further from the ball and adding a little more flex in the knees. 2 things that I am messing around with.

    • I used to do this same move that you are doing at the top of your swing. You are taking the club back on a too shallow of a plane, so when you get to the top of your backswing the only way to save it is to move to a steeper plane in the downswing to get any power. It Took me a while to get rid of it. It could be due to your Strong grip. That can make you bring the club back on a lower plane. Here is a picture of your swing planes. Yellow is setup and red is impact. I’d like to see your right arm parallel with your shoulder line at the top of your backswing. (You should also know that I am not an instructor by any means, but I have studied the golf swing for years.) If I said something wrong….Anyone, please post a comment and let me know. Let’s all help each other get better!
      • Thank you for the advice. I have done a lot of playing around with my plane over the last year and ideally, I try to take the club back and around my body so that it “cuts” through my left should. Just getting started for this year so very likely that I am what appears to be a fraction off.
